Abstract: Il futuro della musica classica si basa sul futuro di un albero che è sull'orlo dell'estinzione. Trovato solo nei resti della devastata foresta pluviale atlantica sulle coste del Brasile, questo albero è vitale nella fabbricazione di archi per violini e altri strumenti fin dai tempi in cui Mozart componeva i suoi capolavori a Vienna. Dalla ricerca del legno delle foreste del Brasile, alla fabbricazione degli archi, al loro uso da parte delle più grandi orchestre sinfoniche del mondo, il film esplora un percorso per salvare gli alberi, e salvare la musica che dipende da esso.
The future of classical music rests on the future of an imperiled tree that is on the edge of extinction. Found only in the remnants of the devastated Atlantic Rainforest, in the coastal forests of Brazil, this tree has been vital in the manufacture of fine violins bows and other instruments ever since the time Mozart was composing his masterpieces in Vienna. From the search for the wood in the forests of Brazil, to the manufacturing of the bows, to their use by the world's greatest symphony orchestras, the film will explore a path to saving the trees, and saving the music that depends on it.
