Abstract: Con il paese in bancarotta, otto giovani disabili dello Zimbabwe potrebbero aver trovato una via d'uscita nella musica. Il film intesse un arazzo ricco e veritiero sulla band Liyana composta da Marvelous, che soffre di distrofia muscolare, Prudence Mahbena, senza gambe e paralizzata, ed Energy, il cui scheletro ha smesso di crescere ma gli organi interni no. Quando sono sul palco la musica prende il sopravvento sulla malattia. Una narrazione toccante e a momenti divertente su un gruppo di giovani che dagli inizi come garage band hanno costruito un loro pubblico che li supporta e che se ne frega dei pregiudizi contro i disabili.
With the country bankrupt, eight young Zimbabweans with disabilities may have found a way out in music. The film weaves a rich and truthful tapestry about the band Liyana consisting of Marvelous, who suffers from muscular dystrophy, Prudence Mahbena, who is legless and paralysed, and Energy, whose skeleton has stopped growing but whose internal organs have not. When they are on stage, the music takes over from the disease. A touching and at times funny narrative about a group of young people who, from their beginnings as a garage band, have built up an audience that supports them and doesn't give a damn about prejudice against the disabled.
