Abstract: L'ultima estate di un drive-in che proietta film in pellicola. Il film si sofferma sull'atmosfera malinconica di una stagione che si avvia alla fine e ne racconta i dettagli: la manualità, il rumore della pellicola in scorrimento, i macchinari ancora in uso ma già obsoleti. Intorno al rito della proiezione, officinato in solitudine da un uomo che sembra egli stesso uscito dalla pellicola, un accenno all'umanità varia che popola il drive-in si mescola con le luci e le ombre sullo schermo. Con sguardo nostalgico, Ozoners tratteggia il ritratto di un'America che non che non esiste più. (m.b.) The last summer of a drive-in that screens motion pictures on film. Ozoners dwells on the melancholy atmosphere of a season drawing to a close. It captures the details, such as the manuality, the noise of film slippage, the obsolete machineries still in use. Around the ritual of the projection, celebrated in solitude by a man who seems to have just popped up from the footage itself, shots of the various specimens of humanity attending the drive-in combine with the lights and shadows on the screen. With a nostalgic look, Ozoners outlines the portrait of an America that is no more.(m.b.)"We set out across the Southern United States with the determination to simply capture the dying state of this pastime, and the result is Ozoners, a visual essay equal parts poetic recollection and collage of an American pastime in retrograde, the film is a careful study in the process of neglect."
