Abstract: E' il 2002 quando Helena Třeštíková incontra per la prima volta Mallory, una giovane madre con trascorsi da eroinomane che decide di cambiar vita. Ma quella vita a cui Mallory si aggrapperŕ con disperazione la metterŕ continuamente a dura prova. Costretta a vivere in un auto e lontana dal figlio, seguiamo con costanza, affetto e a volte anche rabbia le vicissitudini della sua kafkiana esistenza. Gli uomini sbagliati, il fallimentare sistema di aiuti sociali in Repubblica Ceca, l'affannosa ricerca di una vita normale, con un lavoro, un tetto ed una famiglia per un figlio affetto da un disturbo del sistema nervoso che, crescendo, non perderŕ mai la madre come punto di riferimento e modello di forza e coraggio. Perché questo č Mallory: un esempio di forza, coraggio e tenacia per tutti gli anni - tredici - in cui H. Trestikova ne seguirŕ la discesa agli inferi e la faticosa risalita, entrando nel suo mondo, tracciandone l'evoluzione e con una forte empatia mai commiserabile.(c.m.) It was on 2002 when Helena Třeštíková met Mallory for the first time, a young mother with a heroin-addict background, who decided to change her life. However, that life she will desperately strive for will continuously put her to test. Forced to live in a car, far away from her son, we are experiencing the events of her Kafkian existence with perseverance, affection and, sometimes, rage. Wrong men, the failures of the Czech Republic’s welfare system, the strive for a normal life, with a job, a house and a family for a son who has a nervous system disorder and who, growing up, will never lose his mother as a reference and a model of strength and courage. Because this is Mallory: a model of strength, courage and perseverance throughout all the years – thirteen – in which H. Třeštíková follows her fall into hell and the hard climbing back, entering her world, tracing her evolution with a strong empathy without commiseration. (c.m.)
