Abstract: "Un uomo senza terra è solo un uomo, in balia di eventi sempre più ostili", dichiarano i registi Matteo Tortone e Andrea Fenoglio, che firmano i due racconti che compongono il film. Rispettivamente, Il campo, costruito sull'osservazione dei corpi e dei movimenti straniti di migranti di origine subsahariana in cerca di lavoro, ospiti di un campo di accoglienza del Nord Italia; Il recinto, centrato sulla vita, i pensieri e le parole di un agricoltore autoctono, espropriato dei propri terreni. Due autori, due storie, una terra. Su campi avversi lavora visivamente e narrativamente sul concetto di corpo, quando questo rimane oggetto sospeso nel nulla di una cultura che non lo riconoscere più (o ancora) come luogo di relazioni in divenire ma come occupante. I corpi, il corpo, dunque, filmati in un meraviglioso bianco e nero nel primo capitolo e con spiazzante immediatezza nel secondo.(p.m.) "In questa sede non si indagano le ragioni ambivalenti di un disagio sociale ed economico, ma si mette al centro il dramma dell’uomo, le sue peculiarità, le sue contraddizioni, le sue esagerazioni e soprattutto l’isolamento, indotto o cercato e la spossatezza di fronte a un tempo che non passa, che non risolve, ma peggiora solo le cose".
A man without land is just a man in the hands of increasingly hostile events”, say directors Matteo Tortone and Andrea Fenoglio, in charge of the two tales told in the film. Respectively, Il campo, created on the observation of bodies and movements of Sub-Saharian migrants looking for a job and who are hosted in a reception campo in Northern Italy; Il recinto, focused on the life, thoughts and words of a local farmer whose land was taken away from him. Two authors, two stories, one land. Su campi avversi works on the concept of body both from a visual and a narration perspective, the body is lost in the nothingness of a culture which is not able to recognize it (at least anymore) as a place of potential relationships but just as something taking space. The bodies are shot in a marvellous black and white in the first chapter and with an astonishing immediateness in the second one.(p.m.) “This is not the place where the manifold reasons of a social and economic unrest are investigated, this is where the human drama is placed at the core, with its peculiarities, its contradictions, its exaggerations and, most of all, the induced or researched isolatio together with the unease of time passing by, not solving problems, but making them even worse.”
