Abstract: Il film riprende, rimonta e collega tra loro immagini provenienti da alcuni film di Chris Marker. Con questo nuovo montaggio, le immagini acquistano nuovo senso. Nuove storie possono essere raccontate; e i personaggi riprendono (un’altra) vita sullo schermo: un fotografo cieco, una città divisa in due, un chiostro romanico che nasconde un segreto; un viaggio in treno. Un film che riflette sulla ricchezza delle immagini, sulla loro capacità di dire sempre altro, di originare, come un germe fecondo, nuove e potenzialmente infinite storie. “Per quanto riguarda l’idea dei montaggi video, è chiaro che non sono contrario agli esperimenti. Se Isaki Lacuesta volesse prendere altri spezzoni da altri film, non sarebbe un problema per me, io stesso compio così spesso atti di pirateria che mi fa piacere essere io stesso ‘piratato’” (C. Marker).
The film goes back to, re-edits, and pieces together pictures from Chris Marker’s films. The images then acquire new meaning with the new editing. New stories and new characters can thus be told; and the characters take on new (and different) life on the screen: a blind photographer, a town divided in two, a Romanesque cloister concealing a secret; and a travel by train. This film is a reflection on the wealth of images, on their capacity of always saying something more and of generating new and potentially infinite stories like a fecund seed. “As for the idea of video re-editing, you may guess I’m never against experiments. If Isaki Lacuesta wishes to pick other bits and pieces from other films, let it be, I practice enough piracy myself to enjoy being pirated” (C. Marker).
