Abstract: A vent’anni dal suo soggiorno a Bologna, dal 1977 al 1980, Vincent Dieutre ritorna nella città che ha fatto da cornice al suo primo amore e racconta in un diario filmato i ricordi di quegli anni di adolescenza vissuti in ambienti vicini all’estrema sinistra degli anni di piombo. Come in un “journal intime”, Dieutre affronta un viaggio che, tra presente e passato, intreccia in maniera inscindible il suo spazio privato e personale fatto di incontri, solitudini e separazioni, e lo spazio pubblico di una città pervasa dalla tensione, alimentata da ideologie forti e vicende drammatiche che hanno segnato dolorosamente la storia dell’Italia negli anni del terrorismo. “La mattina del giorno dopo ci siamo svegliati prestissimo perché si avvertiva una sorta di inquietudine regnare sulla città. Mi sono lavato, sono andato verso la finestra, l’ho aperta, un’aria molto fresca è entrata; Sandro mi ha raggiunto, eravamo nudi entrambi ed abbiamo sentito una specie di rumore sordo, continuo, un frastuono e, affacciandomi dalla finestra, ho visto una fila di carri armati, di veicoli militari, che risalivano via Zamboni diretti verso il centro, una fila ininterrotta che annunciava il peggio. Era inquietante, ma allo stesso tempo non avevo assolutamente paura perché sapevo che Sandro era lì” [V.Dieutre] .
Twenty years after his stay in Bologna, from 1977 to 1980, Vincent Dieutre goes back to the city in which he had his first love and retraces, through a diary-film, the memories of his youth spent close to the far left wing during the Years of Lead. In his journal intime, Dieutre begins a journey between past and present bounding permanently his private space made of meetings, solitude and separations with the public space of a city shaken by a tension fed by strong extremisms and dramatic events representing a painful era of the Italian history during the years of terrorism. “The following day we woke up very soon because there was a sort of anxiety all across the city. I washed myself and went to the window, I opened it and a flow of very fresh air came in; Sandro reached me, we were both naked and we heard a sort of dull and continuous noise, a huge explosion. Leaning out of the window, I saw a row of tanks and military vehicles approaching the town center through Via Zamboni, a continuous row bringing very bad news. It was terrifying, but at the same time I was not scared because I knew that Sandro was there with me” [V. Dieutre].
