Abstract: “Il film è molto semplice. Inizia con la frase: “Volevo parlare con te di Micha”. Inizia proprio così. E si parla di Micha. Poi si viene a scoprire che i due fratelli, noi, ci siamo parlati per l’ultima volta quando è morto nostro padre. Nel film ci parliamo per la seconda volta. La storia di Micha è solo un veicolo per permetterci di tornare a parlaci” (T.H.). Thomas raggiunge il fratello che vive nei Pirenei in compagnia della sua ex moglie che a sua volta si è stabilita con il suo amico di sempre, Micha, il quale al tempo della RDT, con il nome di copertura Marcel Black, informava la Stasi dei movimenti dei fratelli Heise. Con cinque bypass nel corpo, il fratello beve e fuma come se non fosse cambiato nulla per lui. Ancorato al presente, si offre come presenza indelebile di una storia che dichiarata finita in realtà continua implacabile a produrre altre immagini. “Senza una disponibilità per l’esperienza non si possono realizzare dei film. Non credo ai film nei quali si sa già dall’inizio cosa accadrà alla fine. Anche se oggi molti film vengono fatti proprio così. Si individua un problema e si trovano i protagonisti che si adeguano al soggetto. Questo modo di fare mi annoia” (T. Heise).
“This film is very simple. It begins with this sentence: “I wanted to talk about Micha with you”. That’s exactly how it begins. And Micha is talked about. Then you find out that the two brothers, us, talked for the last time when our father died. In the movie we speak to each other for the second time. Micha’s story is only a vehicle for us to talk again” (T.H.). Thomas reaches his brother who lives in the Pyrenees in the company of his ex-wife, who is actually staying with his old-time friend, Micha. At the time of the GDR, under the cover name of Marcel Black, Micha used to inform Stasi about the Heise brothers. After five bypass operations, the brother drinks and smokes as if nothing had changed for him. He is well anchored in the present, but exposes the inevitable presence of a history which, even though officially over, continues to produce more images relentlessly. “If you are not available for experience, then you can’t realize films. I don’t believe in films where you already know from the beginning what is going to happen at the end. Of course, many films today are made exactly like this. You outline a problem, and you find characters that fit the story. I find this approach boring” (T. Heise).
