Abstract: “Escuelas” è un film sul mondo degli adolescenti. In particolare, esplora il divario tra i loro desideri e la loro vita quotidiana nella scuola secondaria. Note di regia: “Il mio primo film documentario studia il mondo adolescenziale attraverso gli occhi di quattro adolescenti e, allo stesso tempo, mantiene un dialogo aperto con insegnanti, genitori, amici ed esperti. Il film è stato realizzato nel 2004 in due licei spagnoli di due regioni abbastanza diverse del paese. Abbiamo intervistato approfonditamente più di 40 studenti e alla fine ne abbiamo selezionati 4 in base alla loro diversità, carattere, idee, livello accademico e origine sociale. loseba, Leire, Pura e Yolanda sono i personaggi principali del film. Allo stesso tempo nel film ci sono diverse persone che aiutano il pubblico a capire l'universo adolescenziale. Le questioni analizzate da queste persone includono, tra le tante, l'influenza della TV sugli adolescenti, le fonti della loro motivazione, i limiti del sistema educativo spagnolo, la necessità di un miglioramento del curriculum”.
“Escuelas” is a film about the teenage world. In particular, it explores the gap between their longings and their daily life at the secondary school. Director’s Statement: “My first documentary film studies the teenage world through the eyes of four teenagers and, at the same time, it maintains an open dialogue with teachers, parents, friends and experts. The film was made in 2004 in two Spanish high schools of two quite different regions of the country. We interviewed more than 40 students and finally we selected 4 of them based on their diversity, characters, ideas, academic level and social origin. loseba, Leire, Pura and Yolanda are the main characters of the film. At the same time in the film there are several people that will help the public to understand the teenage universe. Questions analysed by these people include the influence of TV on teenagers, the sources of their motivation, the limitations of the Spanish educational system, the need for a betterment of the curriculum, among others.
