Abstract: Il film presenta la storia di soldati combattenti israeliani (molti dei quali ufficiali in unità d'élite) che, dopo anni di leale servizio di riserva, hanno deciso di rifiutarsi di fare i loro trenta giorni annuali di servizio nei territori occupati. Il film racconta le storie di sei soldati, le ragioni delle loro azioni, le confessioni agghiaccianti dell'esperienza di essere un soldato d'occupazione e soprattutto le difficoltà che incontrano come conseguenza della loro obiezione, tra cui il rifiuto da parte della collettività e la reclusione. La pubblicazione della "Lettera dei soldati di combattimento" nel gennaio 2002, firmata da 614 riservisti, ha provocato un'agitazione pubblica poiché i nuovi obiettori appartengono alle fondazioni dell'esercito. Fino a poco tempo fa erano loro stessi a perpetuare l'occupazione, ma ora nel film la contestano apertamente e raccontano le terribili esperienze che hanno vissuto e che hanno fatto subire ad altri. “On the Objection Front” racconta la storia di questo processo e il rifiuto della società israeliana di ascoltarli e riconoscere le loro azioni.
The film presents the story of Israeli combat soldiers (many of them officers in elite units) who, after years of loyal reserve service, have decided to refuse to do their annual thirty days' duty in the occupied territories. The film tells the stories of six soldiers, the reasons for their actions, the chilling confessions of the experience of being an occupying soldier and especially the difficulties they encounter as the consequence of their objection, including collective rejection and imprisonment. The publication of the "Combat Soldiers' Letter" in January 2002, signed by 614 reserve soldiers, caused public turmoil as the new objectors belong to the army's foundations. Until recently they themselves perpetuated the occupation, but now in the film they object it openly and tell about the horrific experiences they went through and caused others to endure. “On the Objection Front” tells the story of this process and the refusal of Israeli society to listen to them and acknowledge their actions.
