Abstract: Una riflessione sulla capacità delle canzoni di raccontare la storia e il mondo; il film ruota intorno alle canzoni che la regista ha ascoltato durante la sua infanzia, quelle che suo padre, repubblicano spagnolo e beneventano, cantava mentre lavorava. Queste canzoni, tristi o felici, sempre in spagnolo, le dicevano che in casa non erano completamente francesi. Per lei questi canti erano inseparabili da un dolore diffuso ma tenace, portavano con loro le migliaia di cadaveri della guerra di Spagna, e la tristezza dell'esilio.
This film develops a reflection on the capacity of songs to tell the story and the world; it revolves around the songs that the director heard during her childhood, the ones that her father, a Spanish Republican and a native of Benevento, used to sing while working. These songs, sad or happy, but always sung in Spanish, told her that at home they were not completely French. They were inseparable for her from a diffuse but tenacious grief; they carried with them the thousands of corpses of the Spanish War, and the sadness of exile.
