Abstract: II fotografo Pablo Volta torna nei paesi della Sardegna centrale in cui, mezzo secolo fa, realizzò i suoi primi servizi fotografici. Sullo sfondo di paesaggi e scorci urbani profondamente mutati, riscopre i luoghi, i punti di vista e le inquadrature dei suoi scatti; ricorda le situazioni, i momenti e i personaggi che allora lo colpirono ed emozionarono; rivive i motivi che suscitarono il suo interesse professionale e umano inducendolo a trasferirsi definitivamente in Sardegna dopo avere operato nelle principali capitali europee. Durante questo viaggio attraverso luoghi e ricordi, scaturiscono inevitabili riflessioni sulla natura dei cambiamenti avvenuti nell'isola: il degrado del paesaggio urbano, lo snaturamento dei costumi, i riti tradizionali divenuti riti propiziatori per l’economia turistica.
The photographer Pablo Volta returns to the villages of central Sardinia, where he first took photographs half a century ago. Against the backdrop of profoundly changed landscapes and urban views, he rediscovers the places, the points of view and the frames of his shots; he remembers the situations, the moments and the characters that struck and moved him at the time; he relives the reasons that aroused his professional and human interest and led him to move permanently to Sardinia after having worked in the main European capitals. During this journey through places and memories, there are inevitable reflections on the nature of the changes that have occurred on the island: the degradation of the urban landscape, the denaturing of customs, traditional rites that have become propitiatory rites for the tourist economy.
