Abstract: “Incontrai Holger sulla strada. Mi chiese se avessi voluto suonare con loro. La sera stessa salii sul palco.” Così Damo Suzuki descrive davanti alla videocamera le sue prime ore insieme ai CAN, la pionieristica band tedesca che lo rese celebre nei primi anni ’70 . Attraverso aneddoti, musica, viaggi, arte e politica la voce storica del “kraut rock” racconta le esperienze più significative della sua esistenza e descrive la sua originale filosofia di vita. Il ritratto che ne emerge è quello di un uomo che, ormai digerita l’esperienza e la fortuna discografica dei CAN, oggi è completamente coinvolto nel progetto “Damo’s Network” e dal suo “tour senza-fine” che, concerto dopo concerto, tocca tutti i continenti del mondo, facendo dell'improvvisazione pura (che nasce soltanto dal feeling tra musicisti e pubblico) l’unica norma da seguire, attraversando barriere stilistiche e culturali spesso agli antipodi.
"I met Holger on the road. He asked me if I wanted to play with them. That evening I was on stage.” This is how Damo Suzuki describes in front of the camera his first hours with CAN, the pioneering German band that made him famous in the early 70s. Through anecdotes, music, travel, art and politics, the historic voice of "kraut rock" recounts his most significant experiences and describes his original philosophy of life. The portrait that emerges is that of a man who, having now digested the experience and the recording success of CAN, is now completely involved in the "Damo's Network" project and his "never-ending tour" which, concert after performance, touches all the continents of the world, making of pure improvisation (which arises only from the feeling between musicians and audience) the only norm to follow, crossing stylistic and cultural barriers that are often antipodes.
