Abstract: Antoine e Cleo si amano. Ma la vita a Strasburgo è tutt’altro che semplice. I rispettivi lavori poi non li aiutano: lui, neolaureato in Scienze Politiche, ha trovato uno stage al Parlamento Europeo, lei lavora come montatrice per il servizio audiovisivo del Parlamento. Attorno alla ronda amorosa dei due giovani – interpretati dagli undici attori dell’ultimo corso della scuola del Teatro Nazionale di Strasburgo - si muove il bastimento del parlamento europeo: con i vari deputati, lo stuolo di interpreti, le reti televisive. Tra questi ci sono Jean-Henri, esperto giornalista televisivo, e Manon, giovane e intraprendente stagista. “Strasburgo mi faceva enormemente paura. Ero convinta che mai sarei riuscita a raccontare una storia in questa città dall’identità molto pronunciata, che io non conoscevo. Poi, un giorno, è arrivata l’idea del parlamento europeo. Mi sembrava molto stimolante filmare là dentro. Pensavo che questo luogo avrebbe opposto resistenza ai giovani attori: avrebbero potuto interessarsi ad altro che a loro stessi, avrebbero dovuto ascoltare, comprendere.”
Antoine and Cleo are in love. But life in Strasbourg is anything but easy. Their respective jobs don’t help. He is a recent Political Science graduate interning at the European Parliament; she works as an editor for parliamentary broadcasting. Around the love of these two young people - played by eleven actors from the National Theatre in Strasbourg - the fleet of the European Parliament circles, with its various diplomats, its host of players and television networks. Among them are Jean-Henri, an expert journalist, and Manon, a young and entrepreneurial intern. “Strasbourg gave me the real chills. I was convinced I’d never be able to tell a story in a city with such a well defined identity, which I wasn’t familiar with. Then, one day, I got the idea for the European Parliament. It seemed really exciting to set a fictitious story there. I thought this place would have resisted young actors, they would have been able to interest themselves they must be other people, in listening and learning.”
