Abstract: Partendo dal concetto di «gravitazione» (forza di attrazione dei corpi celesti, applicata metaforicamente a persone o a sistemi sociali), il film compie una riflessione poetica e surreale sul «mondo nuovo» cosě come esso si configura dopo la fine dell'URSS e della contrapposizione fra realtŕ socialista e economia di mercato. Un'opera unica, segnata da una musica incalzante e da un montaggio alla Dziga Vertov. A rendere il film unico č lo sguardo del regista che non analizza la situazione sociale ma la trasforma, trasfigurandola esteticamente. Mentre il cinema poetico di Riga coglie la bellezza nell'universale, Dainis Kļava coglie il fascino del particolare. Si tratta di un tipo di poetica peculiare, come se si cercasse la poesia in materiali ancora grezzi, tutti da plasmare.
Beginning from the concept of «Gravitation» (the force of attraction of the celestial bodies, metaphorically applied to people and social systems), the film accomplishes a poetic and surreal reflection on the “new world” and how it is configured after the fall of the USSR, highlighting the counter positions between socialist reality and a free market economy. A unique work marked by captivating music and the editing of Dziga Vertov. What makes this film unique is the director's vision that doesn't analyze the social settings, but transfigures it esthetically. While the Riga poetic cinema captures the beauty in the universal, Dainis Kļava gets it from the particular. Dealing with a type of peculiar poetic, as if looking for poetry in rough materials, that have yet to be moulded.
