Abstract: Il documentario, realizzato per la serie televisiva “Faits divers”, è un ritratto di Marie Rouger, una portinaia che un giorno intravede un barbone nascosto nel buio della cantina. Realtà o pura immaginazione? “Histoire de Marie è il solo film che ho raccontato in linea retta. Sono anche io un personaggio, e come tale recito. Alla base c’è la mia relazione con Marie, ma nel film ho giocato a fare il reporter o il poliziotto. In fondo è un film molto simile agli altri che ho realizzato. È la storia di una menzogna che è vera. Marie racconta ciò che ha creduto di vedere e ciò che ha visto. Ed entrambe le versioni finiscono per essere vere, perché entrambe sono state percepite, l’una al momento dell’illusione e l’altra al momento del disinganno” (C. Simon).
The documentary, produced by the television series “Faits divers”, tells the story of Marie Rouger, a concierge who one day stumbles upon a homeless man hidden in the basement. Reality or pure fantasy? “Histoire de Marie is the only film I told in a straight line. I’m a character and as such, I perform. At the core is my relationship with Marie, but in the film I tried to play the reporter or the detective. In the end, it’s very similar to other films I’ve made. It’s the story of a lie that’s actually true. Marie recounts what she believes she saw and what she saw. Both versions end up being true, because both were perceived, the one the moment of illusion, the other the moment of apprehension” (C. Simon).
