Abstract: Il ritratto di una donna che si racconta attraverso le sue parole ma, soprattutto, attraverso i suoi lunghi silenzi. La sua vita passa davanti ai nostri occhi, la storia č sempre la stessa: la deportazione in Siberia, oltre alla sofferenza, ha prodotto lo sradicamento dalle sue origini. Ora che č tornata nel luogo dove ha deciso di vivere, č decisa a difendere la sua scelta e il suo diritto di vivere. “Nessuno dovrebbe permettersi di dire che questa donna non č originaria di questo luogo, neanche se parla con un accento straniero e se non č nata qui. Č stata deportata in Siberia con i suoi quattro figli, ha sofferto la fame, il freddo e l'idea della morte č sempre presente nella sua mente. Poi č tornata ed ha scelto di vivere in questo. Per questo deve essere considerata una del posto” (D. Matuzevičienė, K. Matuzevičius).
The story of a woman told in her words and, above all, in her silence. Her life passes before our eyes, the story always the same - the deportation to Siberia, the suffering that uprooted her from her origins. Now that she has returned to where she has decided to live, she knows she has to defend her choice and her right to live. “No one can say that this woman is not from this place originally, not even if she speaks with a different accent and wasn't born here. She was deported to Siberia with four children, suffered hunger and cold, and the idea of death is always present in her mind. She came back and chose to live here. That's why she must be considered from here” (D. Matuzevičienė, K. Matuzevičius).
