Abstract: Damutė Gaižauskienė suona le campane. Č un lavoro fisico molto duro ma č anche una forma di meditazione. In questo modo la donna ha imparato a capire il “linguaggio delle campane”. Le campane di uno sgangherato campanile, il miraggio sbalorditivo di un cavallo, un bellissimo villaggio lituano convivono splendidamente in un film che sembra seguire il sottile filo del destino. La Siberia č lontana nel tempo e nello spazio, ma tutto č iniziato in quel luogo inospitale, dove Damutė č stata deportata e da dove č riuscita a tornare, portandosi dietro l'inquietudine della deportazione e il dolore di un'esperienza che ha segnato per sempre ogni istante della sua vita.
Inglese: Damutė Gaižauskienė rings the church bell. It's physically demanding work, but also a means to meditate. In this way, she came to understand the “language of bells”. In this film there are bells of a ramshackle church tower, the absurd mirage of a horse, a beautiful Lithuanian village. Everything comes together sublimely in a film that seems to follow the thin line of destiny. Siberia is of another time and place, but everything sprang from that inhospitable place where Damutė was deported and where she succeeded in returning to, carrying with her the disquiet of deportation and the pain of an experience that has marked every moment of her life.
