Abstract: Un cortile, una panchina, un’unica scena. Al centro, due sorelle anziane unite da un legame forte e non corroso dalle difficoltà della vita. Una parla, l’altra annuisce. Una racconta, l’altra vorrebbe andarsene. Oltre le parole e i racconti di vita, si scorge una storia di dominio e di subordinazione, di volontà e frustrazione. L’anzianità come un’asfittica prigione da cui non si può fuggire. Con maestria e sensibilità, Paweł Łoziński ci fornisce un saggio di cinema delle piccole cose, riuscendo a trasformare una chiacchierata senza pretese in un’indagine sulla natura ambigua dei legami, della solitudine e del tempo che tutto invecchia ma niente cambia. Un condominio, un androne, un portone. La chiacchierata termina, le due sorelle si congedano con gratitudine e la scena, breve momento di verità, si chiude dietro un sipario di cemento. Che ne sarà delle due sorelle? Che ne sarà di quel momento di verità?
A courtyard, a bench, a single scene. At its centre, two elderly sisters bound by a strong tie which has not been worn by the hardship of life. One talks, the other nods. One tells, the other would rather leave. Beyond the words and the stories drawn from life, a story of domination and subordination, strong-will and frustration is outlined. Old age is like a stifling cage that can’t be escaped. With a masterly and sensitive touch, Paweł Łoziński gives us an essay on the cinema of small things and transforms a plain chat in an investigation into the ambiguous nature of ties, loneliness, and time – that makes everything age but changes nothing. A condo, a lobby, a door. The chat is over, the two sisters take leave gratefully, and the scene – a glimpse of truth – closes onto a curtain of cement. What will be of the two sisters? What will become of that moment of truth?
