Abstract: Nei suoi settantadue anni di vita (1934 – 2006) Peppo Parolini è stato artista, eroinomane, spacciatore, amico di famosi jazzisti, icona dell’underground torinese… Uno spirito libero, con il gusto dell’eccesso e dello sberleffo. Un irregolare cronico, un irriducibile alla normalità. E' stato anche un grande affabulatore, una miniera inesauribile di storie ricche di humour e dissacrante ironia. Nel documentario Peppo si racconta, con la sua voce impastata di alcol e fumo. Rievoca mondi, squarci di utopie e dannazioni, una lunga cavalcata che parte dagli anni ’50 e ’60 e si conclude oggi. Dentro ci sono parecchie cose: Chet Baker, la beat generation, le rivolte nelle carceri, la droga, la pittura, i fumetti, le notti nei locali dei Murazzi e la scena musicale torinese, la sua città. Una città amata, che non sempre l’ha ricambiato. Tratto dal libro omonimo, scritto da Marilena Moretti e Peppo Parolini, edito da Baldini Castoldi Dalai nel 2007.
In his seventy-two years of life (1934 - 2006) Peppo Parolini was an artist, a heroin addict, a drug dealer, a friend of famous jazz musicians, an icon of the Turin underground... A free spirit, with a taste for excess and mockery. A chronic irregular, an irreducible to normality. And a great storyteller, an inexhaustible mine of stories full of humor and irreverent irony. In the documentary Peppo tells his story, with his voice mixed with alcohol and smoke. And at the same time he tells about worlds, glimpses of utopias and damnations, a long ride that starts in the 50s and 60s and ends today. Inside there are many things: Chet Baker, the beat generation, the riots in prisons, drugs, painting, comics, nights in the clubs of Murazzi and the music scene in Turin, his city.
