Abstract: Dopo aver registrato la vita di suo padre, la sua routine tra lavoro e di casa, nel suo primo documentario, "Hard Good Life" (sua madre è morta quando lei era una ragazza, e i due sono rimasti soli), la regista Hsu Hui-Ju è passata a documentare il corso della malattia di suo padre, fino alla morte. L'osserva attraverso la lente della telecamera; l'osservazione è estesa e amorevole, senza lacrime e drammi, aggiungendo alcune intuizioni con voce tranquilla e tenera, che ci avvicina all'intimità tra una figlia e un padre dall'altra parte del mondo.
After she recorded her father’s life, his routine of work and home, in her first documentary, "Hard Good Life" (her mother died when she was a girl, and the two remained), the director Hsu Hui-Ju moved on to document the course of his illness until his death. She observes him through the camera lens; the observation is extended and loving, without tears and drama, adding some insights with a quiet, tender voice, that touches the intimacy of a daughter and father from the other side of the world.
