Abstract: Una masterclass di direzione d'orchestra al Conservatorio Nazionale Superiore di Musica. Assistiamo a una sessione condotta da Jean-Sébastien Béreau, direttore d'orchestra e professore al Conservatorio. Béreau osserva, ascolta, commenta e corregge un piccolo numero di studenti che sostiene nella loro formazione per diventare direttori d'orchestra. Siamo immersi nella musica davanti a un'orchestra immaginaria, delle sedie vuote, limpidamente ascoltata e con grande attenzione da chi ha il compito di dirigere. Si tratta pur sempre di musica, ma qui ha la sua ragion d'essere nei movimenti eseguito dagli aspiranti direttori e nei commenti che li accompagnano.
A masterclass in orchestral conducting at the National Superior Conservatory of Music. We attend a work session conducted by Jean-Sébastien Béreau, conductor and professor at the Conservatory. Béreau observes, hears, comments and corrects a small number of students whom he supports in their conductor’s training. We are immersed in the music, in front of an imaginary orchestra, some empty chairs, clearly heard and dissected in silence by those who conduct it. It is only a question of music, but which here only exists by the movement of the novice conductors and the comments its generate.
