Abstract: Nel corso del 2008, il compositore Thierry Machuel si reca regolarmente al penitenziario di Clairvaux , nelle Champagne Ardenne, per realizzare, con i detenuti che si offrono volontari, dei laboratori di scrittura. Questi testi saranno utilizzati come libretto per la sua prossima composizione. Man mano che le parole emergono, la musica prende forma fono mentre il nostro sguardo si avvicina a questo luogo, Clairvaux, nel quale, attraverso i secoli, il marchio immutabile della prigionia è rimasto stampato sulla materia, sui corpi, sugli esseri viventi. In mezzo a questo, gli uomini si rivelano, vivono, creano, provano sentimenti.
During 2008, composer Thierry Machuel goes regularly to the penitentiary of Clairvaux in Champagne Ardenne, to carry out, with voluntary inmates, writing workshops. These texts will be used as booklet for his forthcoming composition. As the words emerge, his music takes form and we get to take a closer look at this location, Clairvaux, where, throughout the centuries, the immutable mark of imprisonment is printed on the matter, the bodies and beings. And amidst all that, men are revealing themselves, living, creating, feeling.
