Abstract: Una compagnia comica di Teheran, bandita dalle autorità e cacciata dal suo teatro, si ritrova per strada. Fino al giorno in cui Ariane Mnouchkine (la famosa regista teatrale) apre loro la porta del suo Théâtre du Soleil. Saadi Afshar è il decano di questa troupe che ha fatto ridere tanti iraniani prima della rivoluzione, ma che nessuno vuole più. Sono attesi a Parigi da una donna, una grande regista, di cui non sanno nulla. Lei ha fatto loro un regalo: tre settimane di spettacoli alla Cartoucherie. Lo spettacolo che eseguiranno al Théâtre du Soleil è una parodia comica della loro stessa situazione di compagnia rimasta orfana. L'incontro dei "Lavoratori della gioia" - come si chiama Siah Bâzi - con Ariane Mnouchkine e la sua squadra, solleverà molte questioni per entrambi. Cosa resterà di questo mese di vita improvvisata insieme?
A Tehran comedy troupe, banished by the authorities and thrown out of its theatre, finds itself on the street. Until the day when Ariane Mnouchkine (the famous theatre director) opens the door of her Théâtre du Soleil to them. Saadi Afshar is the doyen of this troupe that made so many Iranians laugh before the revolution, but which nobody wants anymore. They are expected in Paris by a woman, a great director, about whom they know nothing. She has given them a gift: three weeks of performances at the Cartoucherie. The show they will perform at the Théâtre du Soleil is a comic parody of their own situation as an orphaned company. The meeting of the "workers of joy" - as Siah Bâzi calls himself - with Ariane Mnouchkine and her team will raise many questions for both of them. What will remain of this month of improvised life together?
