Abstract: Anche dopo la fine della guerra civile nel resto della Grecia, una piccola parte dell'Esercito Democratico, sei uomini e due donne, rimase in clandestinitą per 14 anni a Hania, Creta, dove continuarono a prendere parte ad attivitą politiche illegali. Nel 1962, sei degli ex partigiani fuggirono, via Italia, a Tashkent. Il documentario si concentra sui tre che sono ancora vivi. Il film rivela la miracolosa resistenza dei resti spezzati dell'esercito democratico e l'abnegazione della gente comune che li ha nascosti. Mostra come i protagonisti principali e gli eroi non celebrati di questa storia siano ugualmente eccezionali, incarnando non solo l'ideologia, ma una profonda dedizione all'umanitą e alla dignitą umana.
Even after the Civil War had ended in the rest of Greece, a small rump of the Democratic Army, six men and two women, remained in hiding for 14 years in Hania, Crete, where they continued to take part in illegal political activity. In 1962, six of the former partisans escaped, via Italy, to Tashkent. The documentary focuses on the three who are still living. The film reveals the miraculous endurance of the broken remnants of the Democratic Army and the self-sacrifice of the ordinary people who hid them. It shows that the main protagonists and the unsung heroes of this story are equally exceptional, embodying not just ideology, but a deep dedication to mankind and human dignity.
