Abstract: Questa è la vita di Daniel, la vita della sua famiglia. Daniel era un bambino normale e giocoso fino all'età di nove anni, quando cominciarono a manifestarsi strani sintomi. I suoi genitori pieni di ansia passarono da un medico all'altro, ma nessuno riusciva a mettere insieme il puzzle. I pareri erano molto discordanti e non veniva offerta loro alcuna spiegazione. Anche un team di esperti riuniti dall'Organizzazione Mondiale della Sanità poteva fare poco più che guardare impotente mentre le condizioni del piccolo peggioravano. L'unica cosa che sua madre e suo padre sapevano con certezza era che Daniel non poteva più sopportare la luce. Dopo anni di test medici, incertezze e preoccupazioni, gli esperti sconcertati suggerirono che forse Daniel soffriva di un raro caso di epilessia fotosensibile. Un caso così raro che Daniel sembrava essere l'unica persona con tale condizione in tutto il mondo. Eppure, anche se la famiglia di Daniel è stata abbandonata da tutto e da tutti, questa non è una storia triste. This is the life of Daniel, the life of his family. Daniel was a normal playful child until the age of nine, when strange symptoms started to surface. His anxious parents journeyed from doctor to doctor, but no one could piece the puzzle together. Opinions differed wildly, and no solutions were offered. Even a team of experts assembled by the World Health Organization could do little more than watch helplessly as the small boy's condition grew worsened. The only thing that his mother and father knew for sure was that Daniel could no longer withstand light. After years of medical tests, uncertainties and worries the baffled experts suggested that perhaps Daniel suffered from a rare case of Photosensitive Epilepsy. A case so rare, that Daniel seemed to be the only person with such a condition in the whole world. Yet, although Daniel's family has been abandoned by all and sundry, this is not a sad story. This is a story about love. This is a story about one family's strength, determination and the unbreakable spirit that shines in their daily lives. Together they have forged an unbreakable bond and invented a fabled world.
