Abstract: Per trenta mesi, dal gennaio 1960 al 4 agosto 1962, formarono la coppia più improbabile: la dea del sesso e lo psicanalista freudiano. Lei gli aveva affidato il compito di aiutarla ad alzarsi, di aiutarla di recitare per il cinema, di aiutarla ad amare, di aiutarla a non morire. Lui aveva fatto la propria missione il volere circondarla di amore, di una famiglia, di un significato, come si fa con una bambina in difficoltà. Voleva essere come la sua pelle, ma per essere stato l'ultimo a vederla viva e il primo a trovarla morta, è stato accusato di averne incoraggiato il suicidio.
