6 April 2009, 3:32 a.m., the earthquake in Abruzzo. About 10 days later, I set off from the A.N.P.AS operations centre in Grugliasco with a caravan of 6 vehicles and 16 volunteers from Piedmont for the Acquasanta camps in L'Aquila and Barisciano (AQ). The documentary tells the story of the relationship between volunteers and the local population, through images of the camps in Acquasanta, Barisciano (run by the Piedmont Region), Piazza D'Armi and Pizzoli; of the protected structures for children, also owned by the Piedmont Region; images of the collapsed buildings and houses in L'Aquila and Onna; through interviews with various volunteers, local guests, the first fireman to arrive in Abruzzo. Through the interview with a boy from Onna who saved 16 people, and with Laura, the first post-earthquake graduate, who received a surprise party organised by the volunteers from Acquasanta, which she herself declared "one of the most beautiful of her life". In addition to the important and detailed interview with Carmine Lizza, who technically documents, with pictures and maps, the earthquake in Abruzzo, and Alessandro Moni, who tells us how to organise a emergency camp.
