Abstract: "U Stisso Sangu"è una raccolta di storie, le storie di migranti sbarcati più a sud di Tunisi, sulle coste sudorientali della Sicilia. Documentando le loro vicende ripercorriamo le tappe del nuovo cammino che li attende sull’isola; un cammino difficile per molti, felice per alcuni, mai intrapreso per altri, ma che inevitabilmente si incrocia, e a volte si scontra, con la realtà locale. Il film si apre a Portopalo di Capopassero, punto di approdo di molte carrette del mare che si smarriscono dalla consueta rotta verso Lampedusa. Lo sbarco e poi la “prima accoglienza” al CPTA di Pian del Lago, dove decine di afghani vivono da giorni senza cibo né acqua, impossibilitati ad entrare nella struttura, ma con l’ordine di non allontanarsi. Mentre ad Avola, la Croce Rossa ha allestito una tendopoli per accogliere gli immigrati. Una tendopoli quasi vuota perché montata troppo distante dai luoghi del raccolto, un campo che chiude troppo presto e che ha fatto si che dei somali si siano rifugiati sotto gli alberi di un terreno a Cassibile. A poche centinaia di metri da lì, durante la raccolta della patata, Davide, un giovane imprenditore agricolo spiega le difficoltà di reperire manodopera locale e della necessità di assumere extracomunitari con regolare permesso di soggiorno. A Modica, c'è una comunità per donne richiedenti asilo; dalle loro parole si scoprono le realtà in cui vivono, i luoghi e le situazioni che hanno lasciato, il viaggio intrapreso e le loro aspettative, ora che sono giunte in Italia. Il direttore della Comunità spiega quali siano i requisiti per poter richiedere lo status di rifugiato e a quale tipo di protezione si viene sottoposti una volta ottenuto. Si chiude questa parte con l'intervista a Rachida, una donna marocchina che da vent’anni vive a Pachino e che rappresenta un ottimo esempio di integrazione. La parte del film che segue propone degli spunti di riflessione: si apre con un’intervista a Fabrizio Gatti che ci parla dell'urgenza di umanizzare queste persone, che, con una terminologia troppo preconfezionata e facile all'uso, vengono definite 'clandestine'. E qui, in termini di nostro tributo, seguono le immagini della Commemorazione per i Morti di Vendicari del naufragio del 27 e 28 ottobre del 2007. Si chiude, con le parole tratte dal discorso dell’Imam che legge i nomi delle persone morte in mare, con i gesti di un rito che permette di rendere omaggio alle vittime dell'Immigrazione.
"U Stisso Sangu" is a collection of stories, the stories of migrants who landed further south than Tunis, on the south-eastern coast of Sicily. It is by documenting their stories that we retrace the stages of the new path that awaits them on the island; a difficult path for many, happy for some, never taken for others, but one that inevitably crosses and sometimes clashes with the local reality. The film opens in Portopalo di Capopassero, the landing place for many boats that get lost from their usual route to Lampedusa. The disembarkation and then the "first reception" at the CPTA in Pian del Lago, where dozens of Afghans have been living for days, without food or water, unable to enter the structure, but ordered not to leave. In Avola, the Red Cross has set up a tent city to accommodate the immigrants. A tent city that is almost empty, because it has been set up too far from the harvesting sites, a camp that closes too early and causes Somalis to take refuge under the trees of a plot of land in Cassibile. A few hundred metres away, during the potato harvest, Davide, a young farmer, explains how difficult it is nowadays to find local labour and the need to hire non-EU citizens with a regular green card. In Modica, there is a community for women asylum seekers; from their words we discover the realities in which they live, the places and situations they left behind, the journey they undertook and their expectations, now that they have arrived in Italy. The director of the Community explains what the requirements are to apply for refugee status and what kind of protection one is subjected to once obtained. This part of the film ends with an interview with Rachida, a Moroccan woman who has lived in Pachino for twenty years and who is an excellent example of integration. The part of the film that follows open up some food for thought: it opens with an interview with Fabrizio Gatti, who talks about the urgency of humanising these people, who are defined as 'clandestine', with a terminology that is too pre-packaged and easy to use. And here, in terms of our tribute, follow the images of the Commemoration for the Dead of Vendicari of the shipwreck of 27 and 28 October 2007. It closes, with words taken from the speech of the Imam reading the names of the people who died at sea, with the gestures of a ritual that allows us to pay homage to the victims of Immigration.
