Abstract: "Conosco Sarah e Julie da molti anni. Sarah era un'amica molto intima, durante l'adolescenza, mentre Julie ed io abbiamo condiviso l'infanzia. Anni dopo le ho ritrovate entrambe impiegate in professioni in cui la cura degli altri è l'obiettivo principale. Sarah, come psicologa in cure palliative, e Julie, come insegnante in una scuola per adolescenti problematici. È stato perché conoscevo parte della loro storia che ho voluto chiedere loro cosa le ha portate lì, a queste professioni che fanno, mi sembra, tanto per gli altri quanto per se stesse" (Lou Vernin).
"I have known Sarah and Julie for many years. Sarah was a very close friend, during her teenage years, while Julie and I shared a childhood. Years later I found them both employed in professions where caring for others is the main focus. Sarah, as a psychologist in palliative care, and Julie, as a teacher in a school for troubled teenagers. It was because I knew part of their story that I wanted to ask them what brought them there, to these professions which they do, it seems to me, as much for others as for themselves" (Lou Vernin).
