Abstract: Gli ultimi giorni di una farmacia in attività dagli inizi del secolo XX, quando le medicine venivano preparate artigianalmente e la grande industria farmaceutica non aveva ancora istigato il modo compulsivo di produzione e di consumo di medicine. La farmacia "Sarandria" funziona da oltre 80 anni nel quartiere popolare di Ciudad a Buenos Aires. Il farmacista ha 86 anni e 60 di esperienza, ed è una testimonianza vivente di un tipo di farmacia che non esiste più. I mobili, i fiaschi e l'estetica del posto sono prova di come la farmacia non abbia subito trasformazioni nel corso del tempo, anche se le rughe sul viso di Don Gregorio sono la prova irrefutabile dell'impossibilità di fermare il tempo. Don Gregorio e Cristina - la sua assistente- mantengono uno stile di lavoro e di attenzione ai clienti lento e personalizzato mentre il mondo ha preso il suo ritmo accelerato. Il suono delle auto proveniente dalla strada ci ricorda che il tempo della vita non può fermarsi ad aspettare questi due anziani. Don Gregorio, come i vecchi alchimisti, è destinato a scomparire insieme alla sua farmacia e noi siamo i testimoni della sua stanchezza finale.
The last days of a pharmacy in operation since the beginning of the 20th century, when medicines were prepared by hand and the big pharmaceutical industry had not yet instigated the compulsive way of producing and consuming medicines. The "Sarandria" pharmacy has been operating for over 80 years in the working-class neighbourhood of Ciudad in Buenos Aires. The pharmacist is 86 years old and has 60 years of experience, and is a living testimony to a type of pharmacy that no longer exists. The furniture, the flasks and the aesthetics of the place are evidence that the pharmacy has not changed over time, although the wrinkles on Don Gregorio's face are irrefutable proof that time cannot be stopped. Don Gregorio and Cristina - his assistant - maintain a slow and personalised style of work and attention to customers, while the world has taken on its own accelerated pace. The sound of cars coming from the street reminds us that the time of life cannot stop waiting for these two old people. Don Gregorio, like the old alchemists, is destined to disappear together with his pharmacy and we are the witnesses of his final weariness.
