Abstract: “Escapeland” segue una storia d'amore che si sviluppa contro ogni aspettativa tra Eshel, giovane donna israeliana di un kibbutz, e Adel, musulmano sudanese rifugiato dell'ONU, a cui non č permesso entrare in Israele. La coppia ha due figli, e da anni Eshel č costretta a viaggiare costantemente tra una remota spiaggia del Sinai (Egitto) dove Adel vive e lavora e la casa di sua madre nel Kibbutz Ein-Shemer. La famiglia oscilla tra la speranza di un futuro insieme e la disperazione causata dagli ostacoli economici e burocratici.
“Escapeland” follows a love story that develops against-all-odds between Eshel , a young Israeli woman from a kibbutz, and Adel, a Sudanese Muslim and UN refugee, who is not allowed entry into Israel. The couple has two children, and for years now Eshel is forced to constantly travel between a remote beach in Sinai (Egypt) where Adel lives and works, and her mother's home in Kibbutz Ein-Shemer. The family shifts between hope for a future together, and despair about the economic and bureaucratic obstacles.
