Abstract: Collocando cinepresa e cameraman in una modalità interattiva che scandisce la narrazione e lavorando attraverso il tema del viaggio, che si collega al viaggio artistico dell'artista, dipanando immagini di vita e rituali e tradizioni performative dell'India, il film mette insieme la coreografia di danza e l'estetica della performance della danzatrice Bharathanatyam Malavika Sarukkai, una delle più grandi danzatrici indiane. Il film organizza le coreografie create e danzate da Malavika Sarukkai sull'asse della sua fede e della sua filosofia e si muove attraverso una narrazione basata sull'amore, la spiritualità, la libertà, la perdita, l'annientamento e il rinnovamento, stratificati con immagini in parallelo tratte dal caos urbano, dalla vita agraria e dai riti primordiali. Punteggiato da interviste e cadenzato da immagini filmate da Varanasi, nel nord, a Kottaym, nel sud dell'India, il film è profondamente ispirato dalla concezione tipicamente indiana dell'arte e della vita, anche se trascende su scala universale per proporsi allo spettatore.
Placing camera and cameraman in an interactive mode that punctuates the narrative and working through the theme of travel, which connects to the artist's artistic journey, unravelling images of life and rituals and performance traditions of India, the film brings together the dance choreography and performance aesthetics of Bharathanatyam dancer Malavika Sarukkai, one of India's greatest dancers. The film organises the choreography created and danced by Malavika Sarukkai on the axis of her faith and philosophy and moves through a narrative based on love, spirituality, freedom, loss, annihilation and renewal, layered with parallel images from urban chaos, agrarian life and primordial rituals. Punctuated by interviews and cadenced by images filmed from Varanasi, in the north, to Kottaym, in the south of India, the film is deeply inspired by the typically Indian conception of art and life, even as it transcends on a universal scale to present itself to the viewer.
