The existence of a sequence of popular dances generally called Maruntele at the beginning of the 20th century aroused the interest of a group of young researchers who began a real social archaeology campaign to collect memories, parts of songs and steps of this dance that has now disappeared. The first part of the documentary describes the Maruntele, a winter dance composed of 24 other dances played to specific melodies, with the help of the inhabitants of the village of Bogdana, in Romania. The maruntele were only performed in Bogdana but, before they became a tradition, they ceased to exist due to the war and, later, due to the departure of young people to the cities. The second part of the film presents the story of an even more ambitious goal: the possibility of bringing this dance back to life. For this, the team of researchers tries to put a choreographer from Vaslui in touch with the mayor of Bogdana. Then they begin the search for the family of violinists who used to perform 60 years ago and who now live in Stupina, in the county of Constanta.
