Abstract: Inizia il 20° secolo. La gente spensierata vaga da un'attrazione all'altra, ridendo, flirtando, affittando barche e carrozze, scommettendo, fumando, giocando con la sabbia, cambiandosi i vestiti, flirtando. Mentre girano per parchi e strade in riva al mare, cercano nuovi diversivi. Cercano modi per distrarsi dal fatto che la guerra sta per iniziare, che l'estate sta per finire, che sono morti da tempo.
The 20th Century begins. Carefree people roam from one attraction to another, laughing, flirting, renting boats and carriages, betting, smoking, playing with sand, changing clothes, flirting. As they circle around seashore parks and streets, they look for more diversions. They are seeking for ways to distract themselves from the fact that the war is about to start, that the summer is coming to an end, that they are long dead.
