Abstract: Petar è un giovane simpatico e discreto. Il film lo segue nella sua preparazione per le Paralimpiadi. Visitando la sua città natale e incontrando i suoi genitori, sapremo di più sullo sfortunato incidente che gli è capitato. Nato cieco da un occhio, all'età di 14 anni Petar ha perso l'altro occhio mentre stava aiutando suo padre nella macellazione di un vitello, un movimento brusco e inaspettato gli è costato la vista. Petar e il suo migliore amico Tomo, anche lui non vedente, ci danno una percezione ravvicinata di ciò che è per loro la 'vista', guardando il loro serial televisivo preferito, giocando a carte, apprendendo da loro cosa si aspettano dall'amicizia. Ci dimostrano inoltre che, nella società di oggi, la conoscenza delle capacità delle persone con "special needs"è ancora molto scarsa. Iniziano i Giochi Paralimpici e la partecipazione di Petar alla gara dei 1.500m sono il simbolo della sua corsa nella vita. Tornato a Zagabria, Petar ci parla dei suoi desideri legati allo sport, e confida anche alcuni dei suoi desideri intimi. Il suo più grande desiderio è quello di incontrare qualcuno che non lo consideri come una persona diversa, ma una persona con cui si vuole condividere l'esistenza. In Croazia ci sono 5.800 non vedenti. Petar Beslic è il primo atleta croato non vedente.
Petar is a nice and discreet young man. The film follows him as he prepares for the Paralympics. As we visit his home town and meet his parents, we learn more about the unfortunate accident that befell him. Born blind in one eye, Petar lost his other eye at the age of 14 while helping his father to slaughter a calf, a sudden and unexpected movement cost him his sight. Petar and his best friend Tomo, who is also blind, give us an up-close look at what 'sight' means to them, watching their favourite TV serial, playing cards, learning from them what they expect from friendship. They also show us that, in today's society, there is still very little knowledge of the abilities of people with 'special needs'. The Paralympic Games begin and Petar's participation in the 1,500m race is symbolic of his run in life. Back in Zagreb, Petar tells us about his desires related to sport, and also confides some of his intimate wishes. His greatest wish is to meet someone who does not see him as someone different, but someone with whom he wants to share his life. In Croatia there are 5,800 blind people.
