The story of the frustrations of a man belonging to a generation of modern Arabs who look Western but are actually more conservative than traditionalist Arabs. In response to the many films about hypocrisy in the Middle East made by Western filmmakers, "Not Quite The Taliban" is the first documentary made by an Arab filmmaker who has put himself on the line by talking about taboos, such as his homosexuality.
