Abstract: Gli esperti stimano che le tigri in cattivitą negli Stati Uniti sono pił numerose degli esemplari in libertą in tutto il mondo. 24 di questi esemplari vivono nel cortile di Dennis Hill che, da oltre quindici anni, alleva e vende tigri nel suo cortile a Flat Rock, Indiana. Le tigri sono sia un'occupazione che un'ossessione per Dennis. Sostiene di comprendere esattamente cosa pensano dal loro sguardo. Dopo un'ispezione governativa a sorpresa, Dennis perde la licenza che gli permette di tenere animali selvaggi, e lo stato dell'Indiana minaccia di chiudere il suo allevamento. Experts estimate that there are more tigers in captivity in the United States than there are tigers in the wild worldwide. Twenty-four of them live in the backyard of Dennis Hill, who has been breeding and selling tigers in his backyard in Flat Rock, Indiana, for more than fifteen years. Tigers are both an occupation and an obsession for Dennis. He claims to understand exactly what they're thinking from their gaze. After a surprise government inspection, Dennis loses his licence to keep wild animals, and the state of Indiana threatens to close his farm. He has only five days to find a new home for his animals and bring the facility up to code, or he will lose his life's work. At the same time, the film goes beyond Dennis' animal enclosure, shedding light on the world of ranchers like Dennis Hill and the almost obsessive spread of wild animal farming in the United States.
