Abstract: Uno spaccato della vita di 8 giovani nella scuola secondaria professionale "Right in the Eye"è molto più di un film documentario, soprattutto per il talento recitativo naturale dei ragazzi di Bruxelles e per il modo rilassato e allo stesso tempo cinematografico in cui la storia è stata filmata. Un film il cui scenario è stato scritto dai giovani stessi. Seduti al pub, Bram e Jovanni mettono insieme le loro idee e decidono di rompere il grigiore della preparazione di un tradizionale progetto di laurea. Ristrutturare una vecchia casa sembra loro un bel progetto di laurea, qualcosa di cui potranno andare orgogliosi per molti anni dopo. Si rendono conto però non possono farlo da soli e che avranno bisogno dell'aiuto dei loro compagni di corso. La difficoltà principale sarà convincere il consiglio scolastico del loro progetto. Bram conosce una casa che è disabitata da due anni e che potrebbe servire come base operativa ideale per portare a buon fine i loro piani. Ravvivare un quartiere un po' fatiscente con un centro giovanile per anziani. Dopo che il consiglio scolastico ha approvato la loro idea, individuano altri 6 giovani, tra cui una ragazza, studenti di diverse discipline tecniche. La ristrutturazione della casa è solo un pretesto: l'elemento centrale della storia è il confronto con se stessi e con i propri compagni.
A glimpse into the lives of eight young people at the vocational secondary school "Right in the Eye" is much more than a documentary film, mainly because of the natural acting talent of the young people in Brussels and the relaxed yet cinematic way in which the story was filmed. A film whose scenario was written by the young people themselves. Sitting in the pub, Bram and Jovanni put their ideas together and decide to break the greyness of preparing a traditional graduation project. Renovating an old house seems like a good graduation project to them, something they can be proud of for many years afterwards. However, they realise that they cannot do it alone and will need the help of their fellow students. The main difficulty will be convincing the school board of their project. Bram knows of a house that has been unoccupied for two years and could serve as an ideal base of operations to carry out their plans. Revitalising a somewhat run-down neighbourhood with a youth centre for the elderly. After the school board approved their idea, they identified six other young people, including a girl, who were students of various technical disciplines. The renovation of the house is only a pretext: the central element of the story is the confrontation with themselves and their peers.
