Abstract: Tra il 1937 e il 1938 venne organizzata un'operazione militare allo scopo di castigare la gente del Dersim (regione della Turchia con popolazione curda). Lo scopo non ufficiale di questa operazione era la conquista del Dersim. Non si parlò mai del massacro compiuto, non si sa esattamente quante persone vennero uccise e quante furono esiliate. Questo documentario è composto da due storie. La prima riguarda due ragazze i cui nonni erano fratelli. Il film ci racconta come hanno vissuto "l'operazione Dersim", quando si sono perse, dove e come sono state portate via dai soldati, il loro arrivo nelle famiglie che le avevano adottate, i disagi, i loro pensieri di fuga e la loro evasione. Della due, Huriye è riuscita a ritrovare la sua famiglia dopo 10 anni, mentre a Fatma di anni ne sono occorsi ben 65. La seconda storia, più recente ma con inquietanti tratti in comune con la precedente, riguarda due famiglie che cercano due ragazze, Şemsi e Sakine, i cui padri sono fratelli, e che sono state rapite all'età di 6 - 7 anni circa per essere "adottate". Fino ad oggi le due ragazze non sono state ritrovate.
Between 1937 and 1938, a military operation was organised with the aim of chastising the people of Dersim (a region of Turkey with a Kurdish population). The unofficial aim of this operation was the conquest of Dersim. The massacre that took place was never mentioned, it is not known exactly how many people were killed and how many were exiled. This documentary consists of two stories. The first one is about two girls whose grandparents were brothers. The film tells us how they experienced 'Operation Dersim', when they got lost, where and how they were taken away by the soldiers, their arrival in the families that had adopted them, their hardships, their thoughts of escape and their escape. The second story, more recent but with disturbing features in common with the previous one, concerns two families who are looking for two girls, Şemsi and Sakine, whose fathers are brothers, and who were kidnapped when they were about 6 or 7 years old to be 'adopted'. To date, the two girls have not been found.
