Abstract: Dopo la morte del marito, Jeane Pijman è rimasta in una casa troppo grande per lei. Le sue due figlie l'hanno convinta a trasferirsi ad Amsterdam, dove vivono entrambe. Lì starà vicina ai nipoti e sarà più facile prendersi cura di lei. A più di ottant'anni, Jeane è impaziente di questo suo nuovo futuro, ma di lì a poco il suo declino fisico e mentale diventa sempre più evidente. Le figlie decidono che una casa di cura è l'unica soluzione. Lì muore, pochi mesi dopo. Un film toccante e senza compromessi sugli ultimi anni di una madre.
After the death of her husband, Jeane Pijman is left in a house that is too big for her. Her two daughters convinced her to move to Amsterdam, where they both live. There she will be close to her grandchildren and it will be easier to take care of her. At more than 80 years old, Jeane is looking forward to her new future, but soon her physical and mental decline becomes more and more apparent. Her daughters decide that a nursing home is the only solution. There she dies, a few months later. A touching and uncompromising film about a mother's last years.
