Abstract: Di fronte all'inaccettabile, abbiamo bisogno di una morte 'socialmente corretta'. Dare l'illusione, per un momento soltanto, che il morto non sia morto. Facilitare quello che si chiama il "processo del lutto"è diventato un lavoro, preso in carico da nuovi tecnici chiamati tanatopatizzanti (da praxis, pratica e thanatos, morte). Il loro lavoro consiste nel ritardare il processo di putrefazione. Sono coloro che "rendono belli i morti". Il film propone un percorso nel 'backstage' del mondo funerario, sollevando domande che riportano lo spettatore verso il proprio ultimo destino.
In the face of the unacceptable, we need a 'socially correct' death. Giving the illusion, for just a moment, that the dead person is not dead. Facilitating what is called the 'mourning process' has become a job, taken over by new technicians called tanatopathisers (from praxis, practice, and thanatos, death). Their job is to delay the process of putrefaction. They are the ones who 'make the dead beautiful'. The film offers a journey into the 'backstage' of the funerary world, raising questions that lead the spectator towards his or her final destiny.
