Abstract: Lars, svedese di 23 anni, sta studiando cinema in Cile quando apprende che, a Cerro Chuño, centinaia di bambini si sono gravemente ammalati a causa dei rifiuti tossici prodotti nella sua città natale, in Svezia. Cerca perciò di scoprire se la Boliden, la compagnia mineraria coinvolta, sia responsabile dell'inquinamento. La Boliden si rifiuta di assumersi qualsiasi responsabilità in merito a quello che è successo. Lars conosce Rolf, ex capo del dipartimento ambientale di Boliden. Rolf ammette che la consulenza da lui fornita all'azienda è stata decisiva nel decidere di smaltire i rifiuti in questo modo. A sorpresa, Rolf decide di seguire Lars in Cile per scoprire cosa sia successo esattamente.
Lars, a 23-year-old Swede, is studying film in Chile when he learns that hundreds of children in Cerro Chuño have become seriously ill due to toxic waste produced in his home town in Sweden. He tries to find out whether Boliden, the mining company involved, is responsible for the pollution. Boliden refuses to take any responsibility for what has happened. Lars meets Rolf, the former head of Boliden's environmental department. Rolf admits that the advice he gave the company was decisive in deciding to dispose of the waste in this way. Surprisingly, Rolf decides to follow Lars to Chile to find out exactly what has happened.
