Abstract: La storia di un uomo che ha abbandonato sua moglie e il figlio di otto anni ad Atene, dopo che suo cugino è stato assassinato sulle Montagne Bianche di Creta. Ritornando alla piccola e remota comunità, Yiannis affronta il suo passato e si impegna a onorare il cugino Hlias, pastore. L'uomo si batte per portare avanti la vocazione di Hlias, una tradizione morente tenuta in vita solo da un pugno di uomini isolati, che vivono nelle impervie Montagne Bianche che affacciano sul Mar Libico.
The story of a man who abandoned his wife and eight-year-old son in Athens after his cousin was murdered in the White Mountains of Crete. Returning to the small, remote community, Yiannis confronts his past and sets out to honour his cousin Hlias, a shepherd. The man struggles to carry on Hlias's vocation, a dying tradition kept alive only by a handful of isolated men living in the rugged White Mountains overlooking the Libyan Sea.
