Abstract: Secondo il filosofo Zygmund Baumann, le società contemporanee possono essere descritte a partire dai flussi di mobilità di individui che riconfigurano il significato degli spazi. Quasi che una parte dell’umanità potesse attraversare il mondo indisturbata e l’altra parte se lo vedesse passare davanti frastornata. Le due figure chiave di questi flussi sono il «migrante» e il «turista»: controllato e indesiderato il primo, senza confini e bulimico il secondo. Lovely Planet si occupa proprio di descrivere quella febbrile attività di chi attraversa il mondo alla ricerca di frammenti di presente da trasformare in memoria.
According to the philosopher Zygmund Baumann, contemporary societies can be described by the mobility flows of individuals that reconfigure the meaning of space. As if one part of humanity could cross the world undisturbed and the other part could watch them pass by and be dazed. The two key figures in these flows are the "migrant" and the "tourist": the former controlled and unwanted, the latter boundless and bulimic. "Lovely Planet is about describing the feverish activity of those who cross the world in search of fragments of the present to be transformed into memory.
