Abstract: In viaggio sulla strada, Didem Pekünsi si reca all'incontro con Tulay German, la formidabile cantante turca che ha dato inizio alla musica pop turca con il suo compagno Erdem Buri. A causa delle loro opinioni politiche entrambi sono stati esiliati da Istanbul 40 anni fa. Questo ha fatto di Tulay German una delle artiste più impegnate politicamente ed esplicite della sua generazione: la voce degli immigrati a Parigi che hanno condiviso esperienze simili alla sua. Dopo il ritiro dalle esibizioni pubbliche e la perdita del suo compagno, Tulay German ha scelto una vita tranquilla di solitudine. Ha accettato di partecipare al film solo mediante le sue registrazioni vocali. Basandosi sulla sua autobiografia "The Black Box of the Plane Which Never Crashed" Didem Pekün riflette nel passato storico attraverso l'evoluzione musicale dell'artista, scoprendo la interrelazione tra passato e presente.
On a road trip, Didem Pekünsi goes to meet Tulay German, the formidable Turkish singer who started Turkish pop music with her partner Erdem Buri. Because of their political views they were both exiled from Istanbul 40 years ago. This made Tulay German one of the most politically engaged and outspoken artists of her generation: the voice of immigrants in Paris who shared similar experiences to her own. After retiring from public performances and losing her partner, Tulay German chose a quiet life of solitude. She only agreed to participate in the film through her vocal recordings. Based on her autobiography "The Black Box of the Plane Which Never Crashed" Didem Pekün reflects on the historical past through the musical evolution of the artist, discovering the interrelationship between past and present.
