Abstract: Nel corso dei secoli, i finlandesi hanno costruito da soli le loro case. Anche oggi, migliaia di famiglie stanno costruendo la casa propria. "Home Dreams"è un documentario sulla costruzione di una casa unifamiliare nella Finlandia moderna. Il film testimonia gli sviluppi di una nuova area residenziale, dalla prenotazione del lotto edificabile al giorno del trasloco. La famiglia Särkiniemi sta costruendo la sua casa con i propri sforzi. La famiglia è composta da padre, madre e due bambini piccoli. Due anni e tutto il tempo libero sono dedicati al sogno di possedere una casa tutta loro. Come affrontano lo stress finanziario, mentale e ambientale? Pentti Kyllönen è un uomo d'affari. Costruisce case per altre persone. I suoi affari vanno bene fino a quando la recessione globale colpisce anche la Finlandia nel bel mezzo del progetto.
Over the centuries, Finns have built their own houses. Even today, thousands of families are building their own homes. "Home Dreams is a documentary about the construction of a single-family house in modern Finland. The film bears witness to the development of a new residential area, from the reservation of the building plot to the day of moving in. The Särkiniemi family is building their house with their own efforts. The family consists of a father, mother and two small children. Two years and all their free time are devoted to the dream of owning their own house. How do they cope with the financial, mental and environmental stress? Pentti Kyllönen is a businessman. He builds houses for other people. His business is going well until the global recession hits Finland in the middle of it.
