Abstract: La madre di Adelheid Roosen è in una grande vasca da bagno, seduta sulle ginocchia dell'altra figlia, che la sostiene affettuosamente. La video camera statica registra i teneri movimenti della figlia e l'evidente piacere della madre. In un'altra scena, la madre è tra le braccia di suo genero mentre mangiano cioccolata. In un'altra ancora, vediamo la cineasta stessa filmata dall'alto, i suoi movimenti sono seguiti dalla camera mentre è sdraiata sul pavimento con sua madre - entrambe indossano pannolini per incontinenza. La posizione statica della camera rende queste brevi scene ineludibili e potenti. Roosen le usa per registrare ed entrare nel mondo di sua madre, che soffre del morbo di Alzheimer. È un tentativo amorevole e umoristico di affrontare una malattia sfuggente.
Adelheid Roosen's mother is in a large bathtub, sitting on the lap of her other daughter, who affectionately supports her. The static camera records the daughter's tender movements and the mother's evident pleasure. In another scene, the mother is in her son-in-law's arms as they eat chocolate. In yet another, we see the filmmaker herself filmed from above, her movements followed by the camera as she lies on the floor with her mother - both wearing incontinence nappies. The static camera position makes these short scenes inescapable and powerful. Roosen uses them to record and enter the world of his mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. It is a loving and humorous attempt to deal with an elusive disease.
