Abstract: Il film racconta la storia del viaggio di ritorno di Stefan Ivanov nella sua terra natale alla ricerca degli ultimi zingari erranti. Viaggiamo con lui da Montreal, Canada, alla Bulgaria alla ricerca delle immagini depositate nella sua memoria fin dall'infanzia, di quelle realtà che ancora oggi si trovano negli angoli più remoti delle campagne e nei ghetti alle periferie delle città. Incontriamo i rom che incrociano il suo cammino: Tataco e la sua orchestra che suona allegramente nei quartieri di Sliven; Rady, il capo orso solitario; Veska che si prepara per la fiera del fidanzamento, e molti altri. Tutte le persone incontrate vivono in prima persona le conseguenze dei grandi cambiamenti che hanno avuto luogo nel paese e nella sua società dopo il crollo del sistema comunista. È anche un viaggio emotivo, dove passato, presente e futuro si intrecciano.
The film tells the story of Stefan Ivanov's journey back to his homeland in search of the last wandering gypsies. We travel with him from Montreal, Canada, to Bulgaria in search of the images deposited in his memory since childhood, of those realities that can still be found today in the most remote corners of the countryside and in the ghettos on the outskirts of cities. We meet the Roma who cross his path: Tataco and his orchestra playing happily in the neighbourhoods of Sliven; Rady, the lonely chief bear; Veska preparing for the engagement fair, and many others. All the people we meet experience first-hand the consequences of the great changes that have taken place in the country and its society since the collapse of the communist system. It is also an emotional journey, where past, present and future intertwine.
