Abstract: Il film rievoca gli eventi occorsi nell'autunno del 1919, quando il destino dell'Europa moderna, dopo la prima guerra mondiale, venne deciso a Riga. Tre visioni del mondo si scontrarono sulle rive del fiume Daugava: uno stato nazionale per i lettoni, proclamato l'anno precedente, l'idea rivoluzionaria bolscevica e la resurrezione di una monarchia. Gli interessi reazionari della monarchia furono rappresentati dal generale tedesco Graf Rudiger von der Goltz e dal colonnello russo Pavel Bermont.
The film recalls the events that took place in the autumn of 1919, when the fate of modern Europe after the First World War was decided in Riga. Three worldviews clashed on the banks of the Daugava River: a nation state for Latvians, proclaimed the year before, the Bolshevik revolutionary idea and the resurrection of a monarchy. The reactionary interests of the monarchy were represented by the German general Graf Rudiger von der Goltz and the Russian colonel Pavel Bermont.
